How to do it
Water Conditioner Care and Usage
Soft water has a unique feel to it. Your glassware has less scale on it and detergents lather and rinse differently than they did before your system. This is all due to the change in water chemistry from your water softener’s ability to remove minerals such as calcium and magnesium.
Simple maintenance will lead to long, trouble-free usage of your equipment.
- The salt brine tank should remain full of salt – 1 bag every 4 to 6 weeks is sufficient for the normal household
- The conditioner is set to self-clean every night. If there is a power outage, the clock will need to be reset but the clean schedule should remain the same.
- The unit should be serviced Annually by one of our technicians to ensure internal components are clean and trouble free. Take a lighter and scorch the orifice of the tap to kill any bacteria that may be present on the tap. Make sure there is no plastic o-ring in the faucet.
- The resin inside your softener begins to deteriorate after 5 years. You may notice some hardness or staining of your fixtures. That is an indicator to calls us to re-bed the softener. You will then have system like the day it was installed.
Enjoy your water.
Water Softener Repair
Because Water Softeners operate out of sight, it could be hard to know when it’s time for a repair. Since mineral buildup and limescale from hard water can damage your pipes and appliances, it’s a good idea to regularly ensure proper functionality. Here are some signs that your Water Softener might be failing:
- Water spots – you’ll notice more water spots on your glassware, and around your shower and faucets as minerals build up in your pipes and appliances
- Low water pressure – A changes in water pressure signals that there is a build-up of minerals in your pipes that are reducing water flow
- Clothes feel stiff – Hard water can make your clothes feel stiff, dull their color, and cause them to wear out faster
- Dry skin – Hard water can make your skin feel dry and your hair brittle
- Salty-tasting water – If you notice a change in the taste of your water, it could be a sign there is more mineral in your water

we love them
what our clients have to say
"The technicians are very knowledgeable of both rainwater and well water systems and they stock supplies for both. They provided me with excellent advise for a nuanced water supply situation and had all the necessary parts on hand to fix a system that had been improperly installed by another service provider several months before. They are also very busy, but it’s worth the wait if you want advise from people who actually know what they are doing and sell professional quality models."
